Mohanlal joins forces with VA Shrikumar Menon for Mission Konkan : Bollywood News

Mohanlal, the Malayalam actor, will reunite with filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon for the film Mission Konkan. According to reports, Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda will play a key role in the film.

Official confirmation, on the other hand, remains pending. Last year, Shrikumar unveiled Mission Konkan. The life of Malabar dockyard workers, known as Mappila Khalasis, is depicted in this historical period film. The film would be shot in Malayalam and Hindi, with other south Indian languages dubbed in.

After Odiyan, Shrikumar will direct Mission Konkan, which will be his second collaboration with Mohanlal. Critics hated the 2018 fantasy thriller, which also bombed at the film office. Mohanlal appears to be a firm believer in the concept of second chances.

The actor-director team was also slated to work on Randamoozham, a Mahabharata-inspired film. The film generated a lot of buzzes as the directors stated that it will be filmed for Rs 1000 crore, making it the most expensive film ever made in India. However, for a variety of reasons, the idea never really took off.

Due to the delay in getting the film into production, writer MT Vasudevan decided to abandon the project. Shrikumar was also in the news for all the wrong reasons, including his feud with his old pal Manju Warrier. More information on Mission Konkan is awaited.

On the work front, Mohanlal just completed the filming of Bro Daddy. His upcoming film 12th Man, directed by Jeethu Joseph, is now in production. His film, directed by Shaji Kaila, will be released in October of this year.
