The makers of NBK111 marked actor Manoj Manchu’s birthday with a major casting announcement, officially confirming his inclusion in the film starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and directed by Gopichand Malineni. The announcement has been met with significant excitement across the Telugu film industry, with fans already calling it one of the biggest casting coups in recent times.
Manoj will be playing a fierce, commanding role with darker shades, a direction he has been exploring to strong effect in recent outings. Director Gopichand Malineni is said to have crafted a character specifically designed to complement Balakrishna’s iconic screen energy, and Manoj is expected to undergo an intense physical transformation for the part.
Sharing his excitement on Instagram, Manoj wrote, “This birthday has brought me one of the most special gifts I could have asked for. A long-awaited combination with our Lion NBK Balayya anna, under the direction of Gopichand Malineni Garu. This project will always remain especially close to my heart because of the bond and respect I share with both of them. One promise to all the fans: this time is going to be a solid treat on screen, and truly worth the wait.”
Directed by Gopichand Malineni, who previously delivered the blockbuster Veera Simha Reddy with Balakrishna, NBK111 marks the latter’s 111th film. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, the same banner behind Ram Charan’s Peddi, the film is mounted on a grand scale. This also marks Balakrishna and Manoj’s second collaboration, following their 2012 appearance together in Uu Kodathara? Ulikki Padathara?
The shoot is currently underway, with Manoj expected to join the sets soon.
