Actor Malavika Mohanan is gearing up for the release of Sardar 2, the upcoming action entertainer directed by PS Mithran and headlined by Karthi. The actress, who has built a strong presence across Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi cinema, recently shared insights into her experience working on the sequel, describing it as one of the most physically demanding projects of her career.
Over the years, Malavika has worked alongside several leading stars including Vijay, Dhanush, Prabhas and Mohanlal, earning recognition for balancing commercial entertainers with performance-oriented roles. With Sardar 2, she is set to showcase a new side of herself as she takes on a role that required extensive action work and physical preparation. Speaking about the film, Malavika said, “I am excited for Sardar 2. I would call it a challenging role for me physically. There are lots of stunts in the film and we have done insane action sequences. I can’t wait to watch it on the big screen.”
The actress revealed that the film pushed her beyond her comfort zone and demanded significant commitment and endurance. With action playing a key role in the narrative, Sardar 2 is expected to feature large-scale stunt sequences and high-intensity moments designed for the big-screen experience.
Directed by PS Mithran, the film marks another major addition to Malavika’s growing filmography and is among the most anticipated Tamil releases in her upcoming slate. Apart from Sardar 2, the actress also has Pocket Novel in the pipeline, where she stars opposite Vijay Sethupathi. The project is being directed by acclaimed filmmaker Thiagarajan Kumararaja.
