Junglee Pictures unveils teaser for Shahi Kabir’s Ronth starring Dileesh Pothan and Roshan Mathew : Bollywood News

Produced by Junglee Pictures and Festival Cinemas, the teaser for Shahi Kabir’s directorial debut Ronth has been released. Starring Dileesh Pothan and Roshan Mathew, the film draws from Kabir’s own background as a former police officer. Set over the course of a single night, the teaser follows two police officers as they face a series of on-duty challenges, exploring themes of policing, mentorship, and the dynamics between a senior and junior officer.

The teaser introduces Sub Inspector Yohannan (Dileesh Pothan) and his junior, Dinanath (Roshan Mathew), on night patrol duty. As the senior imparts lessons on observation and restraint, the younger officer gives back in witty ways —setting up a layered exploration of duty, mentorship, and the quiet power struggles between the two.

Writer and director Shahi Kabir shared, “While writing Ronth, I drew inspiration from my time as a cop and from my interpersonal relationship with my colleagues on duty. This is a world I’ve lived in, and through these characters, I hope the audience gets a glimpse into the human, more realistic side of policing, while also experiencing the emotional and gripping drama the film has to offer.”

After the critically acclaimed Ela Veezha Poonchira, this marks Kabir’s second directorial outing and his return as a screenwriter following the superhit Officer on Duty. Ronth also features a strong ensemble cast including Sudhi Koppa, Arun Cherukavil, Krisha Kurup, Nandanunni, and social media personalities Lakshmi Menon and Baby Nandutti. The film is produced by Vineet Jain (Junglee Pictures), and Ratheesh Ambat, Ranjith E.V.M, and Jojo Jose (Festival Cinemas), with Amrita Pandey as co-producer.
