The glittering world of Telugu cinema often masks the personal struggles of its biggest names. Actor Jagapathi Babu recently shed light on one such moment, revealing how superstar Prabhas became instrumental in helping him navigate a period of profound emotional turmoil.

A lifeline from an unexpected source

The veteran performer, known for his work in blockbusters like Pushpa 2, Salaar, and the upcoming Ram Charan venture Peddi, opened up about his struggle with depression during an interview with Moneycontrol. At his lowest point, Jagapathi felt compelled to reach out to the Baahubali star, despite the geographical distance between them. Prabhas, who was stationed in Georgia for film shoot commitments, responded with warmth and reassurance that would fundamentally shift Jagapathi's perspective.

"I was going through depression and wanted to speak to him," Jagapathi recalled. "At that time Prabhas was shooting in Georgia. He told me, 'Darling, I am there. Tell me your problem, I will solve it,' and gave me a lot of confidence."

More than words on a screen

What made the encounter particularly moving was Prabhas' commitment to his words. Beyond the reassuring conversation, the superstar made a deliberate effort to visit Jagapathi personally upon returning from his shoot, ensuring the veteran actor remained uplifted and motivated during his vulnerable phase. This gesture underscored what Jagapathi described as Prabhas' defining characteristic.

"Though he is younger than me, he has a very big heart," Jagapathi acknowledged. "He loves and cares for everyone."

Humility as the common thread

Jagapathi Babu's observations extended beyond Prabhas to encompass another titan of Telugu cinema, director S.S. Rajamouli. "Even after winning many awards, Rajamouli remains humble and grounded. He has no ego at all, and his entire family is the same. They treat everyone with care and affection," he noted. What's more, this humility doesn't come at the cost of professional integrity. Rajamouli's casting decisions remain entirely merit-driven. "He selects actors based on suitability to the character, not because of closeness to him," Jagapathi added.
