Following significant buzz since its announcement, The Goat Life - Aadujeevitham continues to be one of the most awaited films of the year. The Matrubhumi Literature Festival 2024, saw the bestselling writer of “Goat Days” Benyamin, and director of the adaptation of the same novel, Blessy, share their opinion on the relationship between Malayalam cinema and literature. Prithviraj Sukumaran's team revealed a captivating behind-the-scenes video, providing an exclusive glimpse into their journey through Wadi Rum, Jordan, during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.

The video shows the moving visuals of how a group of people belonging to different cultures and nationalities survived in the middle of the desert during the COVID-19 pandemic, while playing games, celebrating festivals, and supporting each other through what would’ve been the most isolating and distressing time of their lives.

Speaking about his exceptional transformation for the film and the fear of losing that progress before the shoot began, Prithviraj shared, “So the biggest pressure Blessy Sir had was my 8 months transformation. We had to make use of it, my physical transformation should not go to waste, and that was the biggest concern. Before heading to Jordan, in those final two weeks, I was in Austria at this facility named Vivamayr, just to push myself a bit more if I could. And suddenly, Covid 19 got declared as a pandemic. Blessy sir always used to ask me ‘Raju, whenever we plan to shoot this you will have to redo things again, your entire transformation will have to be redone. That’s all he asked me every night. And my reply was, ‘Blessy sir, do we have another choice’. Then I had to see it through.”

Sharing the experience of being stuck with a movie crew in the middle of a never-before-seen pandemic, Blessy remarked, “Arriving in this desert with dreams, our excitement turned to fear upon learning about the world being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. And for some 60-odd days, we were isolated in this desert. March 9th, 2020 was the day we landed in Jordan to shoot our second schedule. From there on, every single day was challenging for us. The courage to stand together during tough times is what this movie taught every small member of our group, and that I feel is the most special thing.”

Produced by Visual Romance, The Goat Life also features Hollywood actor Jimmy Jean-Louis, Indian actors like Amala Paul and K.R. Gokul, along with renowned Arab actors such as Talib al Balushi and Rik Aby in pivotal roles. The upcoming film’s music direction and sound design are helmed by Academy Award winners A.R. Rahman and Resul Pookutty, respectively. The stunning visuals of the film have been shot by Sunil KS, and they have been edited by A. Sreekar Prasad. Being shot in multiple countries around the world, the film marks the biggest-ever venture in the Malayalam film industry, setting new benchmarks in production standards, storytelling, and acting prowess. With exemplary performances and a soul-stirring background score, the film makes for a larger-than-life theatrical experience.
