The Telangana Gaddar Film Awards 2026, held on March 19 at the HITEX Convention Centre in Hyderabad on the occasion of Ugadi, brought together several prominent names from the Telugu film industry. While the evening celebrated cinematic achievements, it was an unscripted on-stage moment featuring Devi Sri Prasad, popularly known as DSP, that quickly gained traction online.
During his performance, DSP extended an impromptu invitation to Rashmika Mandanna, who had earlier won the Best Actress award that night, to join him on stage. The actress, dressed in a cream saree paired with traditional gold jewellery, joined in for a brief dance, matching the composer’s energy. The moment, captured on video, has since circulated widely across social media platforms.
Shortly after, DSP also encouraged veteran producer Dil Raju to participate. Dil Raju, who also serves as the chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, obliged, adding to the light-hearted atmosphere of the event. The interaction drew a strong response from the audience, with many appreciating the candid and celebratory tone of the segment.

Such moments underscored a more informal side of the awards ceremony, highlighting the camaraderie within the industry beyond the formal distribution of honours. While the event primarily focused on recognising achievements in Telugu cinema, these spontaneous interactions contributed to its broader appeal.
The awards ceremony coincided with a busy phase in DSP’s career. The composer is currently associated with the music of Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan, which released on the same day. In addition to his work as a composer, DSP is also set to take on a lead acting role in Yellamma, directed by Venu Yeldandi and produced by Dil Raju.
With production on Yellamma expected to begin soon, DSP’s transition from music composer to on-screen performer marks a notable development in his career. His appearance at the awards event, coupled with the viral dance moments, has further added to the visibility around his ongoing and upcoming projects.
