The first glimpse of Dragon, the upcoming period film starring Jr. NTR and directed by Prashanth Neel, was recently released. The film is presented by T-Series’ head honcho Bhushan Kumar. Set against the backdrop of the international opium trade, the film spans events connected to the borders of China, Bhutan, and India's Golden Triangle in 1969.
The glimpse introduces Jr. NTR in a rugged, high-stakes environment, offering an early look at the film's tone and setting. Joining him is Rukmini Vasanth. The ensemble cast also includes Anil Kapoor, Biju Menon, Khushbu Sundar, Guru Somasundaram, Rajeev Kanakala, Ashutosh Rana, Anshuman Pushkar, and Sidhant Gupta, among others.
Prashanth Neel previously directed KGF: Chapter 1 (2018), KGF: Chapter 2 (2022), and Salaar (2023). Music for Dragon is composed by Ravi Basrur, who also scored the KGF films and Salaar. Cinematography is by Bhuvan Gowda and editing by Pranav Sri Prasad.
Earlier, Prashanth Neel spoke about working with Jr. NTR for the first time. "For the last 25 years, I've been a huge fan of NTR. Watching all the mass films he has done and finally getting the opportunity to direct him was both exciting and intimidating. But the moment I worked with him, I understood his brilliance. He completely understood the character, the drama, and the world of the film exactly the way I imagined it," he said.
