The anticipation surrounding Dragon continues to soar as the ambitious collaboration between Jr NTR and filmmaker Prashanth Neel gears up to hit the big screen. Touted as one of the most awaited films in Indian cinema, the project has already generated massive buzz following the release of its first glimpse, which set social media abuzz and heightened excitement among fans across the country.
Mounted on a grand scale, Dragon promises a mix of high-octane action, powerful drama and spectacular visuals. Interestingly, the film has been in development for nearly five years, and according to Prashanth Neel, Jr NTR played a significant role in shaping its dramatic core through extensive creative discussions.
Speaking about the film’s development process, Prashanth Neel said, “5 years. I didn’t have writers in the first 3 years that came in only after that. The hero and I used to have chatters about this. I trust him with drama, when I go and talk to him I really trust him. It’s not because I have to go to my hero to get his approval, I really trust him.”
The filmmaker went on to praise the actor’s creative instincts and the valuable inputs he brought to the project over the years. “I usually go to an audience I trust and luckily for me NTR was absolutely phenomenal, the kind of inputs he’s put into this has been brilliant and I’m very happy to be in an environment around him where we can have conversation about drama.”
The comments have further fuelled excitement around the film, especially among fans eager to witness the creative synergy between the KGF and Salaar director and the RRR star. With both names carrying immense box-office pull and a reputation for delivering larger-than-life cinematic experiences, Dragon is already being viewed as one of the biggest releases on the horizon.
The recently unveiled glimpse offered audiences a taste of the film’s scale and visual grandeur, sparking widespread discussion online. While the makers are keeping plot details tightly under wraps, the combination of Prashanth Neel’s signature storytelling style and NTR’s screen presence has only amplified expectations.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, Dragon stars Jr NTR in the lead role and is being produced under the banners of Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts. The pan-India entertainer is set to release in five languages and is slated for a grand theatrical release on June 11, 2027.
