Kantara: Chapter 1 has made a strong impression at the global box office, earning around Rs 335 crores, worldwide in its opening weekend. The film has connected with audiences across different languages and regions, emerging as one of the more successful Indian releases in recent times.

Kantara: Chapter 1 is set in the 4th Century AD and explores the origins of the mystical land of Kantara. The film delves into its mythology, historical conflicts, and spiritual themes, weaving a story rooted in folklore and tradition. It stars Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda, Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, PD Satish Chandra, Prakash Thuminad, and a talented ensemble cast, bringing the tale to life on screen.

Kantara: Chapter 1 is written, directed, and led by Rishab Shetty, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. The film’s cinematography is by Arvind S. Kashyap, with music composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, both of whom helped shape the world of the original. Kantara: Chapter 1 was released worldwide on October 2, 2025.
