Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and filmmaker Venkat Prabhu have collaborated together for Telugu-Tamil bilingual project Custody which is all set for a grand release worldwide this month. While the team is leaving no stone unturned to promote the Tamil debut of Chaitanya, the makers unveiled the trailer on May 5, Friday, a few days after they released the songs of the upcoming action entertainer.

The trailer of Custody takes us through the journey of protagonist who is protecting the antagonist and not letting him die. Naga Chaitanya plays a constable who plays by the law. While his ladylove Kriti Shetty is in trouble as she is forced to marry another guy, he has to guard a criminal from his opponents, till he is produced before the court. A source close to the film said, “Naga Chaitanya’s character is that of an underdog who fights against powerful people in society. It’s a tailor-made character for him and Chay has never looked so convincing.”

Krithi Shetty essays the character of his college sweetheart whereas Arvind Swami plays a ruthless criminal. While Sarath Kumar is a cop, Priyamani is featured as a politician in the movie. The film also stars Sampath Raj, Premgi Amaren, Vennela Kishore, Premi Vishwanath and others in pivotal roles.

Custody is said to be mounted on a large scale with high production values and technical standards under the banner of Srinivasaa Silver Screen with Pavan Kumar presenting the film. Cinematographer SR Kathir, editor Venkat Raajen, production designer Rajeevan is the and art director DY Satyanarayana form an essential part of the film’s crew with the musical scores being composed Maestro Ilayaraja and his son Yuvan Shankar Raja. It is slated to release on May 12 in Tamil and Telugu languages.
