Bholaa Shankar: Distributor lodges stay on the release of the film after producers refuse to return money for Agent : Bollywood News

It seems that Chiranjeevi starrer Bholaa Shankar is facing issues owing to the issue that started during the release of Akhil Akkineni starrer Agent. Distributor Satish of Gayatri Devi Films, who was in charge of distribution in three states of South India, had to face a loss after the producers only gave him the distributions rights of a single region, even after making the full payment. And despite promises of returning the money, Satish did not receive the refund which has now prompted him to take legal action against Anil Sunkara and Garikapati Kishore along with requesting a stay on the Chiranjeev film, co-starring Tamannaah Bhatia and Keerthy Suresh.

In a statement given by Distributor Satish of Gayatri Devi Films, he revealed that he was promised the distribution rights of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka for the movie Agent, for which he made a payment of Rs. 30 crores. However, during the release, he was only granted the rights to distribute in Vizag. After he confronted producers Anil Sunkara and Garikapati Kishore, they promised to refund the payment excluding the rights of Vizag, which will be made either 45 days after the release of the Akhil Akkineni film or 15 days before Bholaa Shankar release. However, the makers have not fulfilled their promise because of which Satish maintained that he was prompted to go the legal way and seek justice for his loss. He confirmed that they had indeed lodged a case asking to stall the release of the Chiranjeevi film and also asserted that they would be abiding by the court judgement. The court has held its hearing on the case on August 9.

Directed by Meher Ramesh, Bholaa Shankar is expected to feature Tamannaah Bhatia as the love interest of Chiranjeevi whereas Keerthy Suresh is expected to essay the role of the superstar’s sister. The film is expected to release on August 11.
