Baahubali actor booked under dowry death after his wife commits suicide

The Raidurgam police in Hyderabad have registered a case against Baahubali actor Madhu Prakash for his alleged involvement in the death of his wife Bharati. The 34-year-old Bharati committed suicide by hanging herself to death in her house on August 6.

The Circle Inspector of Raidurgam police station said that the body was taken for autopsy as soon as the police reached the spot. Bharati’s father lodged a case against Madhu Prakash alleging that he used to harass his daughter for dowry and would also beat her up several times. In his complaint to the police, Bharati’s father said that it was this behaviour of Madhu Prakash that abetted his daughter to commit suicide.

Madhu and Bharati got married in 2015. They would have frequent quarrels about Madhu Prakash’s lifestyle. It was Prakash who first saw his wife’s body when he returned home from the gym on Tuesday at 7.30 pm. Reportedly, on the day of the incident, Bharati had insisted on Madhu returning home early from work. The actor refused to listen to his wife, who over the phone had threatened to commit suicide.

Madhu Prakash is a TV actor and played a small role in SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali. The police registered a case under Section 304B (dowry death) of the Indian Penal Code. The police said that Madhu Prakash will be sent to Judicial remand on Thursday, August 8.
