Almost a year on from the infamous Oscar slap, Will Smith appears to be joking around about the infamous incident that took place with comedian Chris Rock in a new video on TikTok!

According to the New York Post, on Tuesday, the Emancipation star posted a “duet” with a TikTok user who prompts others on the app to ask an inanimate object what it thinks of you. “This works because everything has consciousness,” reads the caption of the original video by TikTok user Sam Rossi. “You can pick up a pen and ask it how it sees you or what it thinks of you,” she continued.

“And you will get an answer in your mind from your intuition. You can ask your car what it thinks of you, you can even ask money what it thinks of you,” she added. In the video, the actor reaches for his Academy Award for Best Actor, which he won for his starring role in King Richard right after that controversial incident.

Smith then looks at his trophy as if he’s about to ask a question just before he ends the video. The now-viral clip went on to earn 112,500 likes and 1.6 million views as of Wednesday morning. During the 2022 Academy Awards night, Smith stormed the stage at the stage after Rock made a joke about the actor’s wife Jada Pickett Smith’s shaved head, a result of hair loss condition alopecia.

Following the ceremony, which also saw Smith win his first Best Actor Oscar for his performance in King Richard, the Academy banned Smith from attending all of its official events including the Oscars for the next 10 years. Though the Men In Black star apologized on social media in the days following the incident, Smith properly addressed the controversy in a five-minute video released in July.

Meanwhile, the 95th Academy Awards hosted by late-night broadcaster Jimmy Kimmel will take place on March 12.
