Promising superlative action, intense fight scenes and even a sneak peek at another Spider-Man villain, the latest trailer for Marvel's most terrifying hunter's solo film with Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Kraven- The Hunter was unveiled on August 13. The brand-new trailer for the R-rated origin story takes a closer look at Kraven’s strained relationship with his father and brother, along with his quest for revenge.
The trailer shares a sneak peek of how Aaron Taylor-Johnson transforms into the role of Kraven The Hunter as he dons the iconic lion-skin cloak and chases down the enemy. Kraven the Hunter is the visceral story about how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be. Set before his notorious vendetta with Spider-Man, Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as the titular character in the R-rated film.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Aaron Taylor-Johnson had discussed about the intriguing R-rated character he is playing in the Marvel franchise and said, “I think there was something unique about this character, and something grounded. We’ve all had enough of seeing certain studio films, a certain kind of pop culture… where they’re churning out stuff that dilutes wanting to go to the cinema. I wouldn’t have signed onto it if I felt there wasn’t something to really bring to life with this character. You just think, ‘What the f*** have I just read?’ That’s the kind of character I’m playing.” He added, “A lot of the people who grew up with Marvel are old enough now to watch an R-rated movie.”
Directed by J.C. Chandor, the film also stars Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott and Russell Crowe in key roles. Produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel Entertainment, Arad Productions, and Matt Tolmach Productions, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, it is intended to be the sixth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU). The film will be releasing in cinemas on December 13, in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
