South Korean actor Im Siwan is currently in talks to star in 1980s suspense drama Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (literal translation).
According to the Korean tabloid Soompi, set in the backdrop of mid-to-late 1980s, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a suspense drama that tells the story of students at an agricultural high school in Chungcheong Province. The drama is being directed by Lee Myung Woo.
Following reports of Im Siwan’s casting in the drama, his agency Plum A&C stated, “Im Siwan received an offer to star in the new drama ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ and is currently reviewing it.”
Siwan is offered the role of Jang Byung Tae, a timid boy from Onyang in South Chungcheong Province, who moves to Buyeo Agricultural High School where he encounters a life-changing event that alters his fate as he grapples with his low social status at the new school.
The broadcasting schedule is yet to be decided for the show!
