Song Joong Ki and Hong Xa Bin feature in the new poster of Hopeless ahead of Cannes Film Festival 2023 premiere

Popular South Korean actor Song Joong Ki is set to star in the noir project Hopeless alongside Hong Xa Bin. Ahead of the official premiere of the movie at the Cannes Film Festival 2023, the makers unveiled an intriguing poster that stimulates the curiosity of the viewers. This marks the feature film debut of Kim Chang Hoon.

According to the Festival de Cannes website, Hopeless or Hwaran is a story about a “young Yeon Gyu seeks to escape the daily hell of his hometown, the only one he has ever known. Short of money, he will find help from Chi Geon, who is a member of a criminal gang, and will befriend him.” It is a story about precarious characters who make dangerous choices to escape hellish reality.

Hopeless is set for the premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on May 24. Director Kim Chang Hoon along with actors Hong Xa Bin, Song Joong Ki, and BIBI will be in attendance at the premiere.

On the work front, Song Joong Ki was last seen in the hit JTBC drama Reborn Rich, a fantasy drama based on a hit web novel of the same name about a chaebol family’s secretary who is reborn as the family’s youngest son.
