South Korean superstar Song Joong Ki will make a special appearance in the upcoming K-drama Queen Of Tears led by Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won. The actor recently wrapped the shoot for his cameo in the upcoming drama. The news was confirmed by his agency on Friday, February 23, 2024. Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won previously worked together in the dramas Descendants of the Sun and Arthdal Chronicles.
Queen of Tears heralds a collaboration between writer Park Ji Eun and director Jang Young Woo. Drawing from Park's successful endeavours such as My Love from the Star and The Producers, and Jang's direction in Crash Landing on You, anticipation surges for this new venture. The casting announcement in December 2022 brought further excitement, as the beloved duo of Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won was confirmed to lead the drama.
As per Soompi, their portrayal as a married couple, Baek Hyun Woo and Hong Hae In respectively, will set the stage for the narrative. Baek Hyun Woo plays the legal director of Queens Group, and Hong Hae In is the heiress of Queens Group's department stores. Yet, beyond the glossy facade of their positions lies the heart of Queen of Tears - a tale of resilience, love, and humour amidst adversity. Through the lens of this married couple, viewers are poised to witness a multifaceted journey, where challenges become the crucible for their bond.
Queen Of Tears is set to premiere on March 9, 2024.
