Popular K-pop group SEVENTEEN member Jun, whose full name is Wen Junhui, is all set to make his lead drama debut with Chinese youth romance Exclusive Fairytale. Starring alongside Zhang Miaoyi, the full-length trailer was unveiled on Tuesday ahead of its premiere on July 27 on iQiyi.

As per the official synopsis by iQiyi, the story follows the sensitive and independent overachiever Ling Chao (played by Wen Junhui) and the carefree and adorable underachiever Xiao Tu (played by Zhang Miaoyi). They have known each other since birth and have a love-hate relationship as childhood friends. With the help of their parents and friends, they eventually embark on a sweet and romantic journey. Whether in kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, or high school, Ling Chao and Xiao Tu are like a pair of bound and inseparable commodities. They cannot shake off their connection no matter how much they try. It is only when Xiao Tu mistakenly believes that she has feelings for Yin Zihan (played by Xiong Aobo) and nearly breaks up with Ling Chao that he realizes the indispensable place Xiao Tu holds in his heart.

Exclusive Fairytale is adapted from the popular novel “Once We Come Across Love.” The series is directed by Gong Yushi. Though Jun has been a child actor before moving to South Korea to become a singer, this series would mark his first lead role.

On the other hand, Zhang Miaoyi is currently basking in the success of When I Fly Towards You, which was also a youth drama.

Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN recently brought their concert back to their hometown with ‘SEVENTEEN TOUR ‘FOLLOW’ TO SEOUL’ from July 21 to 22.

The group recently made history in K-pop, as their latest release FML became the best-selling album ever in K-pop with over 6.2M copies sold since its release on April 24, 2023. The 13-piece act is now also the first K-pop artist to reach the 6M mark for album sales with a single album.
