RRR music composer M.M Keeravaani, Elvis’ costume designer, Top Gun: Maverick’s cinematographer to be honoured with Variety’s Artisans Awards at Santa Barbara Film Festival 2023

With RRR winning a Golden Globe Award followed by an Oscar nomination for ‘Naatu Naatu’, the team of the film is soaring high and why not. The film has been a global phenomenon. Now, the music composer and songwriter M.M Keeravaani will be honoured with Variety’s Artisans Awards at Santa Barbara Film Festival 2023.

Along with him, Elvis biopic’s costume designer, production designer and producer Catherine Martin, Top Gun: Maverick’s cinematographer Claudio Miranda, and Babylon’s production designer Florencia Martin, are also the recipients of Variety’s Artisans Awards. The honourees will be felicitated on February 13, 2023, at the Arlington Theatre.

The festival’s Executive Director Roger Durling told the publication, “From big-budget productions to independent cinema, artisans have shown us this past year the strength and vitality of the collaborative process in filmmaking, and we at SBIFF cherish our partnership with Variety and the opportunity to spotlight the accomplishments of these singular artists.”

The other honourees include Everything Everywhere All At Once composer Son Lux and editor Paul Rogers, Adrien Morot who did Hairstyling/Make Up for The Whale; Eric Saindon, the man behind the VFX of Avatar: The Way of Water and Frank Kruse, the Sound Designer of All Quiet on the Western Front.
