Ever since Prime Video announced the screen adaptation of British author Lee Child’s wildly popular Jack Reacher series, ardent fans of the books were excited to see how the adaptation would play out on the streaming service. As Alan Ritchson, the 6'2" former Aquaman, stepped into the shoes of the protagonist, previously filled by Hollywood heavy-hitter Tom Cruise in the 2012 film Jack Reacher, the actor has time and again acknowledged Cruise’s role as the Reacher legacy builder.

Alan Ritchson recently revealed feeling compelled to reach out to Tom Cruise to express his gratitude to the Top Gun star for ‘passing the baton’ to him. He told Jimmy Kimmel in an interview, "I wrote Tom (Cruise) a heartfelt letter, he has brought so many eyes to the series, so out of gratitude I wrote him a page-long letter, he should know how grateful I am for him to do this role." Even though unfortunately the letter could never reach Tom Cruise, Alan did not miss the opportunity to acknowledge Cruise, and shared a special message for him on live television, saying, "Tom (Cruise), I am super grateful to you for passing the baton to me with Reacher, and helping it become what it became with the eyes that you brought to the show!"

As the first three episodes of Reacher season two dropped, fans were quick to spot how creators smartly chose to avoid the timeline of ‘One Shot’, the Reacher novel on which Cruise’s Jack Reacher film was based. The 2012 movie has aged well, earning global acclaim for its solid action sequences and Christopher McQuarrie's impeccable direction. While Reacher season 1 did adapt the first book, Killing Floor, Nick Santora returns with Bad Luck and Trouble, the eleventh book in the Jack Reacher series, for season 2. This strategic move has already built anticipation among fans to find out which book from the iconic series will be adapted next in the Reacher series franchise.

With season three already greenlit, Reacher season two is now streaming on Prime Video with the first three episodes in English, with dubs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages. Following the premiere, new episodes will continue to drop weekly on Fridays, leading up to the power-packed finale on January 19, 2024.
