Paramount Pictures, in partnership with Legendary Entertainment and Capcom, has finally unveiled the first trailer and a set of striking character posters for its upcoming live-action Street Fighter reboot — and Indian action star Vidyut Jammwal’s look as Dhalsim is already creating a buzz.
The film, set in 1993, reimagines the origins of Capcom’s legendary fighters. The story follows estranged warriors Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), who are unexpectedly pulled back into the arena when Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the World Warrior Tournament. The showdown promises more than muscle and martial arts: a hidden conspiracy lurks beneath the spectacle, one that forces the duo to confront each other and the shadows of their past — or risk a catastrophic game over.
Jammwal steps into the role of Dhalsim, the serene yet formidable yoga master, marking a major moment for Indian representation in a Hollywood action franchise. The posters reveal a fierce, spiritually grounded, and visually striking interpretation of the character.
The film boasts a stacked international cast, including Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Jason Momoa as Blanka, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, Mel Jarnson as Cammy, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Roman Reigns (Joe Anoaʻi) as Akuma, Alexander Volkanovski as Joe, and Kyle Mooney as Marvin.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter promises a high-voltage spectacle packed with Hadoukens, roundhouse kicks, and a faithful recreation of fan-favorite characters and rivalries.
The film hits theatres worldwide on October 16, 2026.
