Following the breakout debut of 2022, K-pop girl group NewJeans, under HYBE subsidiary ADOR, has dropped their first comeback album OMG. Following the two-part music video releases for the pre-single ‘Ditto’, the main track titled ‘OMG’ features the five singers - Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. The music video marks the cameo of ace actor Kim Joo Heon.
The music video starts with Kim’s cameo appearance at the hospital who asks Hanni about her story. Keeping with the theme of young love, the girls' croon, “My heart is glowing, it's glowing / My heart is glowing up so I can't sleep at night.” The music video is quite intriguing in terms of storyline and is different from what they released previously.
The track is composed by Jinsu Park, Ylva Dimberg, and David Dawood with lyrics penned by Gigi, Ylva Dimberg, and Hanni. The hip-hop and R&B fused track blends with UK Garage and Trap rhythms showcasing their diverse style.
Previously, the music videos for ‘Ditto’ was released in December 2022, which featured cameos of actors Choi Hyun Wook and Park Ji Hu. The themes related to high-school life along with nostalgia-filled videos, young love and old-school soundscape truly made a mark for NewJeans last year.
NewJeans debuted last year with their EP ‘Attention’. With the new album OMG, the group has surpassed 800,00 pre-orders.
