New character stills for Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo and Sung Joon perfectly match their webtoon sketches; see posters

TVING’s new webtoon-based drama Island has unveiled new character posters and they perfectly match their webtoon caricatures! As noted by Korean website Soompi, Island is a fantasy exorcism drama that takes place on Jeju Island.

It depicts the sorrowful and bizarre journey of the characters who are fated to fight evil that is trying to destroy the world. On December 28, Island released new character posters drawn by Yang Kyung Il, the artist behind the original webtoon.

Kim Nam Gil will take on the role of Pan, an immortal being who has protected the world from evil for thousands of years. Lee Da Hee will transform into Won Mi Ho, a third-generation chaebol and teacher who gets attacked by monsters for the first time in her life and fatefully meets Pan. ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo will be seen as John, the youngest exorcist on earth who is dispatched to Jeju Island by the Holy See while Sung Joon portrays the mysterious Goong Tan, who has been “discarded by the world.”

“The recently released synchro posters were personally drawn by original webtoon artist Yang Kyung Il for Island,” the production team commented. “The posters that were newly created with references to the characters’ characteristics and the actors’ synchronization flaunt the perfect image of them coming to life. We ask for lots of interest in the passionate acting of our actors, who have each brought their characters to life through meticulous character analyses.”

The upcoming series, which drops on December 30, will stream on Prime Video.
