Filmmaker Bong Joon Ho celebrated for his visionary storytelling, is set to captivate audiences with his upcoming film, Mickey 17. Following the monumental success of Parasite, this new project promises to push the boundaries of narrative and genre, bringing forth an intriguing tale that melds science fiction with thought-provoking themes. Starring Robert Pattinson, the first look trailer was unveiled on September 17.

At the heart of Mickey 17 lies an unconventional protagonist, Mickey Barnes, portrayed by Robert Pattinson. Mickey navigates the dangerous employment landscape in a universe where his job demands the ultimate sacrifice—his life.

The narrative is adapted from Edward Ashton’s novel, which introduces viewers to a world of colonization and survival. Mickey is dispatched on treacherous missions to an ice-covered planet, facing dangers that lead to his demise. However, the twist lies in the innovative concept of duplication; upon his death, a new version of Mickey emerges, retaining the memories of his predecessor.

Joining Pattinson in this ambitious project is a talented ensemble cast that includes Naomi Ackie, known for her role in the Star Wars saga, and Steven Yeun, who gained recognition for his work in Nope. Academy Award nominees Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo lend their esteemed talents to the film.
