Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer and key art for Elle, the upcoming prequel series to the popular Legally Blonde franchise. Alongside the launch of the first trailer, the streaming platform has also confirmed that the series has already been renewed for a second season, even before its debut.

Leading the cast is Lexi Minetree, who takes on the role of young Elle Woods. She is joined by June Diane Raphael as Elle’s mother Eva and Tom Everett Scott as her father Wyatt. The ensemble cast also includes Jacob Moskovitz, Gabrielle Policano, Chandler Kinney, Zac Looker, and Amy Pietz, among others.
Serving as a prequel to the beloved Legally Blonde films, Elle takes audiences back to the early years of Elle Woods, long before she became the fashion-forward law student who made her mark at Harvard. Set in 1995, the series follows a teenage Elle as she navigates the challenges of high school, including friendships, first love, family dynamics, and the ups and downs of growing up.

According to the official synopsis, viewers will meet Elle during a formative period of her life when she is still discovering who she is. As she deals with complicated relationships, unexpected challenges, and some questionable fashion choices, she relies heavily on the support of her family. The story also explores her close bond with her mother and the experiences that gradually shape her into the confident and determined character audiences came to know in the original films.
The series has been created by Laura Kittrell, known for her work on High School and Insecure. Kittrell also serves as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Caroline Dries. The executive producer lineup includes Legally Blonde star Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Amanda Brown, Marc Platt, and Brad Van Arragon.
Filmmaker Jason Moore, best known for Pitch Perfect, has directed the first two episodes of the series and also serves as an executive producer. Julia Brownell and Eli Wilson Pelton are attached as co-executive producers, while Bryan J. Raber and Asmita Paranjape serve as producers.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios in association with Hello Sunshine, Elle is set to premiere all eight episodes of its first season on July 1. The series will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
With its coming-of-age storyline and connection to one of Hollywood’s most recognizable female characters, Elle is set to expand the Legally Blonde universe when it premieres on Prime Video on July 1.
