Kim Woo Bin starrer Black Knight to release on Netflix on May 12; see new poster

South Korean star Kim Woo Bin’s upcoming futuristic drama Black Knight at Netflix has officially announced the premiere date and unveiled a new poster!

As noted by Allkpop tabloid, Black Knight is a Netflix series depicting a dystopian future on the Korean peninsula, where people cannot live without oxygen due to extreme air pollution, and the legendary courier driver, 5-8, and the refugee, Sawol, confront the Chunmyeong Group that dominates the new world.

The outlet further sheds light on the characters by sharing, “Kim Woo Bin stars as the legendary courier driver 5-8, Song Seung Hun as Ryu Seok, the successor of the Cheonmyeong Group, Kang Yoo Seok as Sawol, a refugee who envies the 5-8, and Esom, who plays Seol Ah, a military intelligence officer.”

On March 29, Netflix unveiled the second teaser poster that features a man carrying boxes seemingly getting off a courier vehicle whose door is engraved with number ‘5.8.’ The newly unveiled poster shares a glimpse of the dystopian world completely engulfed in sand and extreme air pollution.

The Chunmyeong Group courier box carried by the man has the number ‘05.12’ written on it which indicates the release date. “I worked very happily. I hope that our precious results will be delivered well to you, and I hope that you will be able to breathe happily and happily together,” Kim Woo Bin remarked.

Black Knight is written and directed by Cho Ui Seok. Besides Kim Woo Bin, it also stars Esom and Kang Yoo Seok. Netflix’s new webtoon-based drama premieres in the latter half of 2023.
