Justin Bieber slams H&M for selling a collection featuring his name without approval; urges fans to not buy the ‘trash’

Justin Bieber called out clothing brand H&M for allegedly using his likeness on some of their products without his permission or approval. The ‘Peaches’ singer took to his Instagram Story on Monday to call out the clothing brand for allegedly selling a collection of merchandise featuring his name and likeness without his consent.

As shared by People, the products include a sweater dress with a black and white picture of his face and a canvas bag with different photos of him printed on the front among other pieces. "I didn't approve any of the merchandise collection that they put up at H&M… all without my permission and approval," Bieber wrote in the story.

"SMH I wouldn't buy it if I were you." In a second post, he slammed the products calling it "trash" and urged his fans not to buy them. Meanwhile, H&M said in a statement "As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H&M followed proper approval procedures."

Fans had also been sharing photos on Twitter that spotlighted other items, including sweatshirts reading “World Tour” and a phone case emblazoned with lyrics from his song ‘Ghost’. One person commented on the brand’s latest post writing, “Why you selling Justin’s stuff w/o his knowledge… that’s sketchy,” while another user added, “Shame on you.”

Bieber already has a brand of his own named Drew where he sells his own set of merchandise including hoodies, sweatpants and t-shirts. He also has his own set of merchandise for sale on his official website that features his image and references to lyrics from his latest album Justice.
