South Korean group VERIVERY [DONGHEON, HOYOUNG, MINCHAN, GYEHYEON, YEONHO, YONGSEUNG, KANGMIN] is taking their vibrant energy global! The seven-member group, formed under Jellyfish Entertainment in 2019, has become known for consistently releasing fresh music and captivating audiences with diverse themes. Since their debut, they've actively participated in music shows, hosted concert tours, and consistently impressed with each comeback. VERIVERY's latest musical offering, mini-album Liminality - EP.Dream dropped on May 16th, 2023. This year, they're embarking on a much-anticipated fanmeeting US tour, GO ON, kicking off in Seoul, South Korea, in May 2024.
After stops in Hong Kong and Tokyo, the tour sets its sights on the US, with concerts planned across six different cities. Here's a twist - for the US leg, only four members – GYEHYEON, YEONHO, YONGSEUNG, KANGMIN – will be hitting the stage. Recently, VERIVERY sat down with media outlets, including Bollywood Hungama, to discuss the upcoming tour. They delved into their preparation process, shared insights into their unique pre-show rituals, and even hinted at exciting plans for the future!
Those few minutes before going on stage are crucial. Those moments are intense and one needs to maintain a calm demeanor before heading up stage to ensure the performances thereafter are delivered smoothly. Oftentimes, artists chant, huddle or have some ritual before going up on the stage. When Bollywood Hungama asked VERIVERY if they have any, member GYEHYEON replied, “We do have a chant that we do as a group before going on the stage. We intertwine our pinky and thumb, shouting ‘Fighting’ together.”
A tour is a medium for artists to meet their fans from different parts of the world. To express their gratitude, the artists prepare songs and stages as a gifts for their fans. We asked the group which songs they were looking forward to performing during this concert tour. KANGMIN enthusiastically answered, “During this tour, we'll be showcasing ‘O’, a song we've promoted briefly.” ‘O’ is a track from their 2022 12-track album series ‘O’ [Round 3: Whole]. There were not a lot of live performances for this track, so it will definitely be a treat for the fans to experience the song live and walk down memory lane.
As the roundtable interview came to a conclusion, GYEHYEON assured us that the tour is going to be spectacular. He said,” With the excitement surrounding the tour, we are dedicated to preparing diligently. Stay tuned for what's in store!”
A four-member sub-unit consisting of GYEHYEON, YEONHO, YONGSEUNG, and KANGMIN will embark on a six-city tour kicking off on June 14th in New York. Fans can expect energetic performances across Chicago, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Fort Worth, and Los Angeles. This marks VERIVERY's US return since their 2022 "VERIVERY CONCERT PAGE: O IN US & LATIN AMERICA" tour. The announcement comes after their electrifying performance at KCON LA 2023.
