Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga trailer sees Anya Taylor-Joy take on the powerful Warlord Dementus aka Chris Hemsworth as she sets out on a mission to get back ‘home’

After Charlize Theron kicked off a powerful journey of Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), it is time for the audiences to know her backstory. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga brings forth Anya Taylor-Joy in the same power-packed role as she gives fans of the franchise a sneak peek into how she became a fearless Biker Horde. Tracing her journey from her childhood to teenage years, we see a power-packed Furiosa determined to get back to her homeland aka Land of Abundance, away from the clutches of Dementus, essayed by Chris Hemsworth.

From intense action to enviable machinery, weapons, and of course the quintessential Mad Max automobiles, the franchise fans will be in for a treat as the trailer which was unveiled on March 19 gives a glimpse of all of it. Along with that, the trailer also gives us a sneak peek into the brief backstory of Furiosa, who promises her ‘magnificent’ mother during an emotional farewell, that she will return home, no matter what. In a bid to keep up with the promise, Furiosa sets down a warpath, irrespective of the mayhem, as allies turn into enemies, and vice-versa with a sole mission to ‘come back home’.

In an interview with IndieWire, Australia, Anya Taylor-Joy had confessed about audiences seeing her in a never-seen-before role and added, “It’s the dirtiest and the bloodiest I have ever been, which is saying something, genuinely saying something. Any time I get to be dirty or bloody and not perfectly prim and pretty, I’m just having a ball, that’s where I feel most comfortable. So yeah, ‘Furiosa’ was definitely right up my street.”

Apart from Anya and Chris, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga also stars Tom Burke, Lachy Hulme, Nathan Jones, John Howard, in key roles and it is slated to release on May 24.
