Fast X star Vin Diesel says Fast & Furious spin-offs are in works; female-led move in development

Vin Diesel and Jason Momoa starrer Fast X released last weekend and just like all the screen-smashing action series portrayed in the movie, the box office records too have been smashed by the movie’s crazy fandom. Fast X, the tenth installment in the Fast and Furious franchise has collected over Rs. 72 crores since its release and is moving rapidly heading towards the Rs. 150 crore club. Now, the lead actor of the film has revealed that the film’s spin-offs are in the works and so is a movie led by a female star.

“I started developing the female spinoff…in 2017 with other spinoffs, and the sooner I deliver the finale, the sooner I can launch all the spinoffs,” Diesel confirmed to Variety at the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) Block Party.

At the premiere of the movie in Rome, Diesel teased the three-part finale of the franchise and said, “Fast X is the first of a two-part ending, but “it’s bittersweet to think of a finale, Look how many characters and great talent there is in the movie. There was no way I can pull that off unless I had everyone on for five seconds. These characters are appealing and we need to see more of them.”

Starring Vin Diesel and Jason Momoa in lead roles alongside an ensemble cast in pivotal roles, Fast X is the story of Dom Toretto and his family, who are targeted by the vengeful son of drug kingpin Hernan Reyes.
