Prime Video's post-apocalyptic drama series, Fallout has garnered widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike for its cinematic interpretation of the popular eponymous video game series. With the producers' ambitious vision of faithfully recreating the vast landscapes from the gaming world, the team traversed multiple continents to deftly bring Wasteland to life in this adrenaline-fuelled series. As they bask in the positive response coming their way, creator Jonathan Nolan, as well as actors Aaron Moten and Ella Purnell, recall their most memorable experiences filming for the series in remote and untouched backdrops.
To retain the authenticity of Fallout, the makers is said to have filmed across some never-shot-before locations like the chilly vault sets on sound stages in New York, the beaches of the Skeleton Coast and the breathtaking coastline of Namibia. Ella Purnell revealed an unforgettable moment during the shoot, sharing, "Jonah wanted to film this amazing abandoned shipwreck that had never been filmed. No one had touched it in hundreds and hundreds of years." She went on to add, "Eight of us took two helicopters, we flew five hours to film on the shipwreck and it was unbelievable. I think I will remember that for as long as I live, it was truly one of the most beautiful things I've ever experienced."
Creator Jonathan Nolan also shared, "On the second day, we were shooting at this abandoned diamond refinery right on the coast, and someone wandered over and told us, no one's ever shot there before. That was a unique experience for us. I've never shot somewhere so remote, where literally the only things there are hyenas. It's an incredibly beautiful and strange place." Aaron Moten continued, "I've never been to a place where the desert meets the ocean and being able to see a bombed diamond mine that is now a hyenas den."
An Amazon Original series, Fallout stars Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Sarita Choudhury, Michael Emerson, and Moises Arias in pivotal roles. While filmmaker Jonathan Nolan has directed the first three episodes of the eight-episode first season, he has also co-produced the series with his wife, Lisa Joy, under their banner of Kilter Films. Fallout is now streaming exclusively on Prime Video in India and more than 240 countries and territories worldwide in English, with dubs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
