Eva Longoria to direct and produce Spanish-language remake of French series Call My Agent!

Eva Longoria has signed on to direct and produce Spanish-language remake of Emmy-winning French series Call My Agent! The series already has had successful remakes in Italy, Canada and the U.K., among others.

According to Variety, Longoria will direct the first two episodes of the adaptation. Announced during Series Mania Festival in Lille, the remake series will be co-produced by Mediawan, Elefantec Global and Longoria’s banner UnbeliEVAble Entertainment.

“Like so many people around the globe, I’ve been a huge fan of the original series since it first premiered,” said Longoria. “I’m so excited to partner with Mediawan and Elefantec Global to bring one of the greatest properties that gives a witty and satirical look behind the curtain of the entertainment industry for the Spanish-speaking American market,” added the actor-turned-director.

Longoria made her feature directorial debut with Flamin’ Hot, which also premiered at SXSW and won the Audience Award. The original Call My Agent! takes us through the world of celebrity agents at a top Paris talent agency. The show first aired for four seasons before being acquired by Netflix, ultimately gaining international recognition.
