Blake Lively’s latest film, the romantic drama It Ends With Us has seen enormous success at the box office over the past week, with fans and critics praising the film and its themes of love and struggle of how to end a cycle of abuse.

Adapted from Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel of the same name, It Ends With Us has received enormous love from the film and book community, and lead actress Blake Lively could not be more thankful. The actress, who brought Lily Bloom to life on the big screen, recently took to social media to share a heartfelt message to fans across the globe.

In her message, she wrote “Thank you to everyone who came out to show that people WANT to see films about women, and the multitudes we hold. It Ends With Us is a story of the female experience. All the highest highs, and lowest lows. And we are so proud of it. We have been in celebration of this film and of getting a message so important out there to the masses. Thank you all for embracing @itendswithusmovie with the same love, pain and joy we had sharing it with you all.”

It Ends With Us, the first Colleen Hoover novel adapted for the big screen, tells the compelling story of Lily Bloom (Blake Lively), a woman who overcomes a traumatic childhood to embark on a new life in Boston and chase a lifelong dream of opening her own business. A chance meeting with charming neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni) sparks an intense connection, but as the two fall deeply in love, Lily begins to see sides of Ryle that remind her of her parents’ relationship. When Lily’s first love, Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar), suddenly reenters her life, her relationship with Ryle is upended, and Lily realizes she must learn to rely on her own strength to make an impossible choice for her future.

Directed by Justin Baldoni, the film stars Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni, Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj, Amy Morton and Brandon Sklenar. Sony Pictures Entertainment India’s It Ends With Us is currently running in theatres all over India.
