According to Korea JoongAng Daily, Jin has been assigned his personal postbox at The Camp, a website that handles online letters for Korean soldiers serving in the military. On Wednesday, a post on an online board of the boot camp where Jin is training in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi was uploaded informing fans of this news while also asking them to refrain from sending too many letters to Jin.

“As a pilot program, trainees in our unit are allowed to use mobile phones for 30 minutes a day. They will be checking the letters that arrive online individually using their mobile phones. However, since they all use the same server for the Internet, the server will become very unstable if too many online letters arrive, making it impossible for other trainees to check their letters,” the post reads.

As per the report, however, news outlets reported that the post was not written by an army official but by an employee working for The Camp. The person who wrote the post shared that they posted the article without the boot camp’s consent and “from good intention that too many letters might make the server unstable.” Jin’s boot camp then added that the fans have nothing to worry about and can freely send letters without any concerns for the server.

As per the official statement posted on Weverse social media platform by BIGHIT Music on December 12, it read, “Jin will be enlisting in the army as an active-duty soldier to fulfill his military duty. As we have announced before, there is no separate official event on the day of admission to the recruit training center. On the day off, the site is expected to be very crowded with enlisting soldiers, family members, and some fans.

The agency further wrote, “We ask the media to please refrain from visiting the site. In order to prevent safety accidents caused by on-site congestion, Jin will enter the grounds of the recruit training center while in a vehicle without greeting the media or fans separately. Due to the nature of the venue, we ask for your understanding that there is no separate waiting space for reporters. The agency will not spare its efforts and continued support until the day Jin fulfills his military service duties and returns in good health.”

According to the Korean media portal Soompi, on November 24, it was reported that Jin would enter the recruit training center in Yeoncheon County of Gyeonggi Province on December 13 and then receive his official assignment after completing basic training.
