BTS’ Jin chops his hair, shares photo of his buzz cut ahead of his military enlistment

Jin would enter the recruit training center in Yeoncheon County of Gyeonggi Province on December 13.

South Korean pop titans BTS’ Jin is set to become the first member of the group to officially enlist in the military of South Korea. Previously, it was revealed by Korean media portals that he is enlisting on December 13. The musician has shared his buzz-cut look on social media. On Sunday, December 11, Jin shared a photo of himself after chopping off his long hair. He wrote, "(Laughing emojis) cuter than what I thought."

As per the official statement posted on Weverse social media platform by BIGHIT Music, it read, “We want to thank you for your continued support of BTS and would like to update you on Jin’s upcoming enlistment into the military. Jin will fulfil his required time with the military by enlisting in the army.”

The agency further wrote, “Please note that we will not be holding any kind of official event on the day of his recruitment. The entrance ceremony is a time to be observed by military personnel and their families only. In order to prevent any issues that might occur from crowding, we ask fans to please refrain from visiting the site. Instead, we ask you to keep your heartwarming words of support and farewell in your hearts.”

BIGHIT Music also cautioned the fandom (ARMY) to not fall for the scams of purchasing merchandise and touring in the name of BTS’ Jin. “We also advise you not to get adversely affected by purchasing unauthorized tours or product packages illegally using artist IP. Our company will take necessary action against any attempts at commercial activity making unauthorized use of such IP,” BigHit Music said in the statement.

“Our company will also strive to provide every support he needs during this time,” the notice concluded.

According to the Korean media portal Soompi, on November 24, industry representatives reported that Jin would enter the recruit training center in Yeoncheon County of Gyeonggi Province on December 13 and will then receive his official assignment after completing basic training.

BTS was most recently seen at K-pop singer-actress T-ARA's Jiyeon's wedding.

Prior to his enlistment, Jin made his solo debut with the pop rock genre song ‘The Astronaut’ in late October, written along with Chris Martin of Coldplay; the British band also playing on the recording. He performed at their Argentina concert. The song marked the second collaboration between BTS and Coldplay after Coldplay X BTS’ ‘My Universe’ was released in September last year.
