BTS' Jimin reveals he began prepping for debut album FACE in May 2022 in his documentary; to host a special talk in Seoul on October 30

Jimin of BTS unveiled the behind-the-scenes of making his first solo album FACE in Jimin’s Production Diary, a new documentary now available exclusively on the global fandom life platform Weverse. Jimin’s Production Diary is a HYBE Original documentary that thoroughly captures the album-making process behind FACE (released in March 2023).

Jimin established a unique presence worldwide and became the first Korean solo artist to top the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart with the album’s main track “Like Crazy,” and the film takes viewers on a closer look into Jimin as a person, as well as his honest feelings and thoughts that went through his mind while working on the album.

The preparations for this first solo album began in May 2022, approximately nine years after his debut as a member of BTS. Jimin’s Production Diary offers an intimate look into Jimin’s inner self both as an artist and a human being, as he uses music to navigate his life. Jimin lays out candid emotions, such as emptiness and fear, behind the glamorous aspects of his life as a member of the globally acclaimed band BTS. Ultimately realizing their gratitude for his surroundings, he eventually overcomes the big and small challenges through music.

An innermost story from Jimin, told through a voice that’s never been heard before, this documentary chronicles the creation of his debut solo album at the cusp of his new artistic journey. Additional content to complement the documentary include Jimin’s heartfelt letter to his fans titled ‘The Truth Untold’; a quiz show with the album’s producers; and a commentary video with Jimin and the producers.

In celebration of the documentary release, Jimin hosted an online screening with a ‘Hashtag Event’ via Weverse LIVE on October 23. He read through reviews of the film posted with the designated hashtag and chatted with fans during the live stream.

On October 30, a special screening followed by a talk session with Jimin, titled ‘SPECIAL TALK with Jimin,’ will be hosted in Seoul.
