BTS’ J-Hope becomes first K-Pop solo artist to feature in Top 40 of UK’s Official Charts with J. Cole collaboration track ‘On The Street’

South Korean super group BTS’ J-Hope has achieved a new feat by debuting in the UK’s official charts! The rapper-producer-songwriter has become the first K-Pop soloist to feature in Top 40 of U.K.’s Official Charts with J. Cole collaboration track ‘On The Street.’

As noted by the Korean tabloid Soompi, on March 10, U.K.’s Official Charts announced that BTS’ J-Hope’s new collaboration single ‘On The Street’ with American rapper J. Cole had made its debut on the Official Singles Chart.

The U.K. charts are regarded equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts. For March 10 to 16 week, their collab track debuted at No. 37, making J-Hope the first-ever Korean solo artist to debut in the top 40 of the UK Official Singles Chart.

This isn’t the first time J-Hope featured in the chart. Previously, J-Hope debuted at No. 70 with ‘MORE’ and at No. 82 with ‘Chicken Noodle Soup’ (featuring Becky G). Meanwhile, BTS also has four songs that got featured in the top 10 of the Official Singles Chart.

The songs are namely ‘Dynamite,’ ‘Life Goes On,’ ‘Butter,’ ‘My Universe’ with Coldplay. Speaking of ‘On The Street (with J. Cole)’ is a lo-fi hip-hop track. It is an earworm with easy-listening melody and warm-hearted lyrics.

J-Hope participated in the songwriting and the creative process for the choreography and music video, delivering a hopeful message and warmth with the change of season. The song is highlighted by the whistling sound recorded by J-Hope himself.
