After three years and five months, global K-pop phenomenon BLACKPINK has officially returned as a full group with their third mini album, DEADLINE, released at 9 PM PST today. The comeback arrives after a period defined largely by the members’ individual pursuits and a record-breaking world tour that expanded their global footprint. The anticipation surrounding this reunion has been palpable, with fans worldwide counting down to what marks their first collective musical release since BORN PINK.

As its title suggests, DEADLINE captures what the group describes as their most “irreversible and defining moments,” while spotlighting BLACKPINK at their most dynamic in the present. Spanning five tracks across diverse genres, the mini album underscores the quartet’s musical versatility and signals a confident step into a new era.
The second track, “GO,” serves as the title song and centrepiece of the project. Fuelled by powerful production and an infectious melody, the track is driven by the bold refrain, “Blackpink’ll make ya,” delivering a message of courage, unity, and collective strength. It is a reminder of the synergy that has long defined the group’s identity.
The album also features the previously released hard-style EDM number “JUMP,” alongside the retro hip-hop-inspired “Me and my,” which incorporates polished brass elements. “Champion” emerges as a hopeful anthem powered by uplifting lyrics and melodies, while “Fxxxboy” leans into delicate, emotionally resonant vocal performances, rounding out the five-track offering.
The music video teaser for “GO” has already generated considerable buzz. Featuring sweeping visuals of crashing waves, molten lava landscapes, and a voyage into outer space, the cinematic production hints at a grand, symbolic journey — one that mirrors BLACKPINK’s own trajectory on the world stage.
BLACKPINK’s previous full-group album, BORN PINK, made history by topping both the Billboard 200 in the United States and the UK Official Albums Chart, making them the first K-pop girl group to achieve the feat simultaneously. The album surpassed 2 million copies sold, while their accompanying tour drew 1.8 million attendees, setting new benchmarks for a K-pop girl group.
Even before the release of DEADLINE, momentum has been undeniable. Since official promotions began earlier this month, the group has reportedly added more than 10,000 YouTube subscribers daily, becoming the first artist globally to surpass 100 million subscribers on the platform — a testament to their ever-expanding digital dominance.
YG Entertainment stated that despite an intense world tour schedule, the members dedicated substantial time and effort to perfecting the album. “It encapsulates both the individual musical capabilities of the four members and their synergy as a team,” the agency said, expressing confidence that DEADLINE will leave yet another significant imprint on the global music industry.
With DEADLINE, BLACKPINK not only reunites but reasserts its position at the forefront of global pop — proving once again that their collective power remains unmatched.
