Beyonce and Rihanna’s music producer The-Dream accused of rape

According to a complaint filed in Los Angeles, music producer The-Dream, who is well-known for penning successful songs for artists like Rihanna and Beyonce, is charged with sexual violence, rape, and sex trafficking. The lawsuit was reportedly brought by the producer's former protégé.

As per the records obtained by the New York Times, the victim claimed that The-Dream enticed her into an abusive relationship. According to the lawsuit, the producer allegedly threatened to release a video of "an intimate encounter" and even physically and verbally harassed her to force her into having sex with him on multiple occasions, reported the New York Times.

“What Dream did to me made it impossible to live the life I envisioned for myself and pursue my goals as a singer and songwriter. Ultimately, my silence had become too painful, and I realised that I needed to tell my story to heal. I hope that doing so will also help others and prevent future horrific abuse,” the woman told the publication.

Moreover, a representative for The-Dream denied the allegations and said, "These claims are untrue and defamatory. I oppose all forms of harassment and have always strived to help people realise their career goals. As someone committed to making a positive impact on my fellow artists and the world at large, I am deeply offended and saddened by these accusations.”

The-Dream co-wrote Britney Spears’ song ‘Me Against the Music’ from her album In the Zone. He spent two years working on Nivea's second album Complicated, which he executive produced, and continued to write and produce with Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Laney's brother, which led to Rihanna's 2007 hit ‘Umbrella’, which was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2008 Grammy Awards.
