Filmmaker Tim Burton is reuniting with Michael Keaton for a long-awaited sequel titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. This exciting news brings back the original stars alongside a talented new cast. Michael Keaton reprises his iconic role as the chaotic bio-exorcist Beetlejuice. Winona Ryder (Lydia Deetz from the first film) and Catherine O'Hara (Delia Deetz) return alongside new additions like Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, and rising star Jenna Ortega. Ortega takes on the role of Lydia's rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid.
The makers unveiled a new set of posters of the film along with the new trailer on May 23, 2024. The film's plot centers around a family tragedy that brings three generations of the Deetzes back to their Winter River home. However, their peace is short-lived. Not only is the house still haunted by Beetlejuice, but a curious discovery by Astrid throws everything into disarray. She finds a mysterious model of the town hidden in the attic, accidentally opening a portal to the afterlife. With Lydia haunted by her past and trouble brewing in both the living world and the afterlife, it's only a matter of time before someone utters the forbidden name three times – Beetlejuice!

Tim Burton himself directs the film, drawing on a screenplay by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, known for their work on the Netflix series Wednesday. The story concept comes from a collaboration between Gough, Millar, and Seth Grahame-Smith. The characters themselves were originally created by Michael McDowell and Larry Wilson.
The crew includes Haris Zambarloukos on cinematography, production designer Mark Scruton, editor Jay Prychidny, and the legendary costume designer Colleen Atwood. Adding to the visual magic are Oscar-winning creature and special makeup effects by Neal Scanlan, and the instantly recognizable score by Danny Elfman.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is slated for a theatrical release only, hitting IMAX screens on September 6, 2024, in the US and internationally starting September 4, 2024. Warner Bros. Pictures will handle worldwide distribution.
