Bad Mom: Ra Mi Ran, Lee Do Hyun, and Ahn Eun Jin to star in new comedy drama

South Korean actors Ra Mi Ran, Lee Do Hyun, and Ahn Eun Jin are confirmed to star in new comedy drama Bad Mom (literal title) from JTBC. Bad Mom is a healing comedy drama about a woman who has no choice but to take on the role of a “bad mom” and her son who has become a child once again due to an incident.

According to Korean media portal Soompi, the drama will tell the story of how they try to find happiness once again and is said to have an emotionally moving storyline mixed with light, comedic scenes as well.

Ra Mi Ran will play the tenacious “bad mom” Young Soon who solely manages a pig farm while raising her son. She turns herself into a bad mom to shield her son from any pain and struggle she has had to go through. Ra Mi Ran said, “Some great actors and staff have come together and are working hard on this project. It’s a warm drama full of laughter and emotions.”

Lee Do Hyun will play cold prosecutor Kang Ho who suddenly turns into a child due to an incident. After he becomes a child once again, he gets another chance to live a new life with Young Soon and find the happiness he had been missing before. Lee Do Hyun commented, “I’m so happy and excited to be able to make this great project with such great people. There are many difficult moments, but thanks to the other actors, directors, and writers I’m working with, this will be a challenge that is more exciting than scary.”

Ahn Eun Jin will portray Kang Ho’s long-time friend Mi Joo who cannot stand injustice. After she faces financial troubles, she returns to her hometown and meets now-young Kang Ho. Ahn Eun Jin remarked, “The script was so interesting. I really wanted to participate [in this project] as I watched Mi Joo live her life brightly and confidently even in the face of hardships and adversity.”

She added, “I’m so excited to meet you all in Bad Mom. I was really looking forward to working with director Shim Na Yeon. Thanks to the other actors, we are having fun filming in an enjoyable atmosphere. Please show lots of love and interest.”

Directed by Shim Na Yeon and written by Bae Se Young, JTBC’s Bad Mom is expected to premiere during the first half of this year.
