Veteran actor Zeenat Aman recently uploaded a photo of herself ready to attend a friend's birthday celebration on Instagram. But before entering the party, she offered her opinion on the current debate around celebrities' right to privacy. The article was published not long after Alia Bhatt vented her ire at photographers for taking shots of her from her neighbour’s rooftop.

On Thursday, Zeenat posted a photo of herself along with a reflective message. The actress attempted to explain in her post even though she avoided mentioning any names, about the thin line between admiration and obsession for a famous figure. In the photo, Zeenat posed elegantly as she sported a black dress with polka dots. Sharing the picture, she captioned, “A quick picture in the foyer before heading to a friend’s birthday party the other night. I know you may want to ask me which friend, so I will give you an answer about privacy. I think there’s a fine line between a healthy interest in a public figure or a person you admire, and an entitlement or desire to know every detail of their lives. The former is wonderful and that on which artists and audiences thrive. The latter is a drag for everyone involved and, in my view, keeps us from approaching new ideas and a higher level of conversation. The world is so spectacularly diverse and rich, I promise you there are more interesting things to learn than which celebrity met whom and where. Just a thought.”

Reacting to the post, a fan commented, “While I can continue to rave about many things you have mentioned in your post, I think the fact that you have chosen to open up and create an opportunity to interact with the likes of me, who have been silently admiring you from a distance for decades. Zeenat Aman is an Indian actress and a former model. The Evil Within (1970), starring Dev Anand, marked the former beauty queen's acting debut. She has acted in films like Yaadon Ki Baarat, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Qurbani, Dharam Veer, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Insaaf Ka Tarazu among others.
