As Vadh 2 moves closer to its theatrical release, the film continues to generate strong buzz following its trailer launch. Led by acclaimed performers Neena Gupta and Sanjay Mishra, the actor-driven franchise has once again drawn attention for its depth and performances. Adding an emotional layer to the promotions, Sanjay Mishra, Neena Gupta, and Kumud Mishra recently returned to the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi, their alma mater, where they were warmly welcomed by students, faculty, and theatre lovers.
During the interaction, Neena Gupta got candid about how the dynamics of roles and opportunities have evolved over the years. Responding to a question about how, earlier, roles would often go to senior actors like Shabana Azmi, then Dimple Kapadia, and others before reaching her, Neena Gupta summed it up simply yet powerfully, “Yeh samay samay ki baat hai.”
She reflected on how today, the order has changed, roles now come to her first, and only move on if she chooses to say no. Calling it a matter of timing rather than entitlement, the actor spoke about the importance of being prepared when one’s moment arrives. She added that maintaining good health has become essential at this stage of her life, so that when meaningful work comes her way, she is fully ready to do justice to it. With refreshing honesty, Neena Gupta also spoke about discipline, fitness, and resisting everyday temptations, emphasising that longevity in cinema demands both self-awareness and self-care.

Written and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vadh 2 features Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta in entirely new avatars, while preserving the emotional and philosophical core that resonated with audiences in the original film. Backed by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg’s Luv Films, the sequel has already received significant acclaim following its Gala Premiere at the 56th IFFI 2025, where it was met with thunderous applause.
