The iconic albeit even cult classic film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge holds the record for the longest running film in theatre (Maratha Mandir). Said to be one of the most successful films of Indian cinema this film made SRK and Kajol superstars. So much so that their onscreen characters of Raj and Simran are still remembered fondly.
