Actor Vivek Oberoi has opened up about his challenging phase in Bollywood and the support he received from fellow actor Akshay Kumar. In a recent interview with Mirchi Plus, Oberoi spoke candidly about his experience of being "boycotted" within the industry and how Kumar's actions helped him overcome it.

Oberoi recalled feeling "depressed" and at a career low point when Kumar reached out to him. He described venting his frustrations and concerns about being ostracised despite delivering successful films. "He [Akshay Kumar] said, 'I can help you with a positive mindset,'" Oberoi shared. "There are several shows going on, and you have blockbuster songs. I am shooting a lot, so I can't do these shows, but whatever enquiries come to me, I will divert it to you. You do it.'"

While not explicitly advocating confrontation, Oberoi revealed Kumar offered a practical solution that significantly impacted his career. He said, “He didn’t say I will stand up with you, fight this war against this lobby. He gave a practical, simple solution, which gave me money, good feeling, love and a lot of fun.”

This gesture, as Oberoi expressed, led to him performing at various shows and reconnecting with his fans. He acknowledged Kumar's support as instrumental in regaining his positive outlook and reviving his career.

The interview also delves into Oberoi's admiration for other industry colleagues, including Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan. He credits Roshan's dedication and "madness" for the success of their film Krrish 3, while praising Khan's warmth and genuine connection with people, exemplified by his attendance at his son's school event.

Oberoi's recent project was Indian Police Force, headlined by Sidharth Malhotra. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar awaits the release of the action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.
