The Kashmir Files has not only done exceptionally well at the box office but has also struck a chord with the audiences with an impactful narrative of the 1990 Kashmiri Pandit exodus that happened in the Kashmir Valley. The Kashmir Files stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi, among others. Ever since the release of the film, director Vivek Agnihotri has been sharing the behind the scene videos from the shoot of the film and has spoken about the research that went behind making a film like The Kashmir Files.

Recently, Vivek took to his Facebook page and shared a video of him breaking down after shooting the death scene of the character essayed by Anupam Kher. In the video, a teary-eyed, Vivek is seen hugging Anupam Kher after the shooting scene. Anupam is seen in character lying in a hospital bed, while actor Darshan Kumaar is sitting at his bedside. The people in the room are seen in a solemn mood with a very emotional Anupam Kher.

Sharing the video, Vivek wrote, "When my mother died in 2004, I didn’t cry. When my father died in 2008, I didn’t cry. But when I shot this death scene with Anupam Kher I couldn’t stop. No son could. Such is the intensity of pain of our Kashmiri Hindu parents. Pl watch #TheKashmirFiles only for this scene."


The Kashmir Files which was released in theatres on March 11 collected over Rs. 200 crores in just two weeks. Despite the release of RRR on March 25, the Vivek Agnihotri directorial continues to hold the fort with its collection.
