Vivaan and Akshara’s Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana – A DDLJ redux in its very new avtar? : Bollywood News

Remember that terrific second half of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge [DDLJ] where Shah Rukh Khan entered Kajol's household, befriended her family, and especially concentrated on ensuring that her 'Bauji' [Amrish Puri] was impressed? Well, for more than a couple of decades now, the sequence of events unfolds in front of the eyes with utmost clarity.

Vivaan and Akshara’s Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana – A DDLJ redux in its very new avtar?

Now that Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana is arriving this Friday, insiders reveal that something similar happen in the Vivaan Shah, Akshara Haasan and Saurabh Shukla film as well.

"In a way, Vivaan, Akshara and Saurabh are stepping into the same space and that too, yet again in the second half of the film," reveals our insider, "Plans are being put together to marry Akshara to another guy, Gurmeet Choudhary, and Vivaan tries his best to impress Saurabh Shukla."

There is a twist in the tale though. While Vivaan does indeed step into Sautabh's house and begins to stay there, the girl of the moment - Akshara - is no more living there. Instead, she is being taken care of by Vivaan's father [Darshan Jariwala], hence bringing a different dimension to the story.

"As has been revealed in the promo itself, Saurabh Shukla and Darshan Jariwala decide to take each other's kids under their fold and plan their marriage elsewhere. This is what brings hilarity to the proceedings because both of them are shown to be mighty impressed with their prospective son-in-law and daughter-in-law respectively, who are unfortunately going through a tiff," our source adds, "While there is indeed a Shah Rukh Khan-Amrish Puri scenario that builds up between Vivaan Shah-Saurabh Shukla, soon enough the youngster wins over his would-be father-in-law. The challenge is to woo the girl all over again."

No wonder, the film has been titled Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana because while Laali [Akshara] is now all set to marry another young man [Gurmeet], the boy in question, Laaddoo [Vivaan] is 'deewana' for her and wants her back in his life at all costs.

Would LKSMLD indeed turn out to be a DDLJ redux in its very new avtar? Well, it would be known today, now that the film has released.
