Even during the initial days of the lockdown, the couple had encouraged people to not give up on their pets since they do not contract the virus nor do they spread it. Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have never shied away from taking a stand for the safety of the animals and now, the latter’s foundation has started a movement for the safety of stray animals and their health.

Taking to his Instagram, Virat Kohli announced the movement and thanked his wife Anushka Sharma for inspiring him to take the big step. “To ensure health and support services to stray animals, @vkfofficial has now taken its first step towards animal welfare in collaboration with @vivaldisanimalhealth. I want to thank my wife, @anushkasharma, for inspiring me by her passion towards animals and for being a constant advocate for animal rights.
