Action star Vidyut Jammwal is all set to turn producer with the upcoming action drama IB71. The trailer of the film will be released on Monday April 24 at an event in Mumbai. But before that happens, the actor played a prank on his fans with regards to the trailer launch invite.

As per the makers of IB71, Vidyut hijacked some of his fans’ phones to hide the secret trailer launch invite. He then dared them to find the hidden invite to attend the trailer launch event.

Sharing more about the prank, a statement from the makers said, “These fans have gone into an overdrive, frantically searching for the invite and trying to decipher the clues that lead to the invite in their phones, following the clues that Vidyut is leaving behind, keeping them on their toes and urging them to keep looking, building up the intrigue and excitement for them to find the invite. Vidyut has not only given his fans a sneak peek into the world of IB71, but he is also giving them an unforgettable experience.”

Sharing his take on the whole exercise, Vidyut said, “IB71 is not just a movie, it’s a thrilling experience, and I wanted my fans to be a part of this. The trailer launch invite was my way of bringing them closer to the world of IB71. The response has been incredible, all thanks to my amazing fans. I can’t wait for them to find the invite and witness the trailer and feel the adrenaline rush.”

Vidyut is producing IB71 along with T-Series. Also starring Anupam Kher, Vishal Jethwa and Diwakar Dhayani and directed by Sankalp Reddy, the film revolves around the India-Pakistan war of 1971. It is slated to release in theatres on May 12.
